That is all we have from the 2020 Under-19 World Cup. Bangladesh are the champions, India are the the runners-up, Pakistan are third, New Zealand fourth, West Indies 5th, Australia 6th, Afghanistan 7th and South Africa 8th. England are the Plate champions. Thank you very much for tuning in to our coverage. ADIOS! TAKE CARE!
As far as India are concerned, they will be ruing enough game time for their middle order. Could they have tweaked their batting order a little bit in any of the games and given their batsmen a bit more exposure? There is always this one dreaded game where your batting order collapses and unfortunately for them, it turned out to be the day of the final. They bowled brilliantly though, not far away from becoming the first ever team to defend its World Cup title - but it was not to be so. Plenty of positives to take from.
Akbar Ali is really happy to move away from Ian Bishop because he can now go and lift the trophy with his mates. Well played, Bangladesh, just about holding their nerves better than India. They win their first ever Under-19 World Cup and also register their 10th successive win in Youth ODIs - a record. What a game to create that record.
Victorious Bangladeshi captain, Akbar Ali, says that winning their maiden Under-19 World Cup is a dream come true, citing the hard work put in the last 18 months. Thanks the coaches and the support staff. On the grand but intimidating occasion of a World Cup final, Akbar says that his guys were very much pumped up for this game but he cautioned them to play normally. Praises the Indian team for having a superb tournament. Once again, thanks his coaches and support staff. Believes that this would be a stepping stone for a very bright future in Bangladesh cricket. Thanks the crowd for its amazing support throughout.
Smiling time! Who else? Bangladeshi lads. They cannot stop smiling. Gleefully accept their medallions.
Indian skipper, Priyam Garg, manages a smile. Admits that the day was not good for them but he is proud of the way his bowlers fought and thanks the Almighty for everything. On India's batting in the final, Garg says that toss played a crucial role as the wicket was very damp and the Bangladeshi bowlers bowled very well. Lauds his openers but believes that the middle order could have done better. Feels that 220 could have been a winning total. On any particularly different tactics while bowling, Priyam says that nothing else could have been done, his bowlers did exceptionally well but Bangladesh batted superbly. Agrees that this was a very good experience not only in this tournament but even in the series before that, in this very same country.
The Indian players are now given their medallions. They look downcast but they can be proud of themselves. It could have so easily been a one-sided game and Bangladesh could have crushed them. But the runners-up made more than a fist of it.
YASHASVI JAISWAL HAS BEEN NAMED THE MAN OF THE TOURNAMENT. 400 runs across the event, at an average of 133.33 and a strike rate of 82.47. 4 half centuries and 1 century, with 3 not outs in 6 innings. Says that he really enjoyed the tournament and is happy with the experience of playing in South Africa. On playing carefully in this match, Jaiswal says that he just focussed on playing his own game. On his future prospects, Yashasvi says that he is only going to look at the process he follows regularly, in the matches that will come next.
BANGLADESH CAPTAIN, AKBAR ALI, HAS BEEN NAMED THE MAN OF THE MATCH. On his batting knock, Akbar says that when he arrived at the crease, Bangladesh needed a partnership and says that the planning was simple (really?). Adds that the batsmen knew it would be a difficult chase right from the start as India would not let any team win so easily. Stresses that he just used the opportunity to spend some time in the middle and take his team home.
The presentation is about to begin. The match officials are given their medallions.
Parvez Hossain Emon is called too. Says that it is a great experience to be called as a champion team. Admits that it was tough for him to bat with all the pain but he is feeling better now.
Coach Richard Stonier now is here for some thoughts. He is extremely happy. Says that he has been looked after well by the staff and management and he is very happy for the young boys - stresses that this moment is theirs. On getting the boys ready for every game, the coach says that he JUST asks his boys to give 150 percent. Thanks his mum and dad and dedicates this moment to them.
Rakibul Hasan is down for a chat. Says that it is a great feeling. They came here to prove themselves and they did. Relishes the experience of doing so. On beating India, Hasan says that they made a plan and executed it.
It was an Avishek Das show earlier in the day as he picked up 3 wickets, while Shoriful Islam and Tanzim Hasan got 2 each. But for India, only Yashasvi Jaiswal stood out, making 88. It was his dismissal which triggered the collapse. Rain did play its part in the match. Bangladesh needed 15 runs from 9 overs when it arrived and when play resumed, the runs needed were revised to 7 from 5 overs.
Heartbreak for India. They batted poorly, losing their last 7 wickets for just 21 runs but their bowlers made more than a match of it. Ravi Bishnoi broke through the middle order, with 4 wickets and then, Sushant Mishra chipped in with 2 wickets. But crucially, for India, Kartik Tyagi and Akash Singh went wicketless while Atharva Ankolekar was not trusted enough, bowling just 4 overs. Did Priyam Garg miss a trick there?
With 76 more needed and just 4 wickets in hand, the match looked gone for Bangladesh. But Parvez Hossain Emon, who has retired hurt on 25, came back on to stitch a 41-run stand with Akbar Ali. India smelled fresh blood once Parvez was dismissed but Rakibul Hossain coming in at number 9 showed excellent composure to stay alongside Akbar and take his team home.
In any normal ODI, this would have been chased down with 8 or 7 wickets to spare and Bangladesh started their chase in fine fashion, rocketing to 50/0. But then, Ravi Bishnoi was introduced and that changed things. The leggie spun a web around the batsmen as the chasing side slipped from 50/0 to 102/6.
Phew. What was that? A nerve-filled humdinger. Bangladesh are the 2020 Under-19 World Cup champions but they made a meal of a simple run chase. Tells us how nerves play a part in a final.

THAT IS THE GAME! BANGLADESH ARE THE 2020 UNDER-19 WORLD CUP CHAMPIONS! Rakibul goes for the glory shot. Hasan comes down the track and swings it over mid-wicket. The ball lands just in front of the fielder in the deep. The batsmen take a single and that will do. VICTORY BY 3 WICKETS!

6 pm local (1600 GMT) - Well, one cover is going off! The Bangladeshi batsmen are asked to come back to the dugout from the dressing room. We should have a resumption soon. Sushant Mishra is warming up and getting his rhythm going.
More and more covers are being brought upon. The crowd is waiting anxiously to know the result. This has been one fantastic final between two champion Asian sides. The DLS par score for Bangladesh at the end of 41 overs with 7 wickets down is 147. There is a reserve day on Monday but that will not come into usage now as more than 20 overs have already been bowled in the second innings. Fingers crossed for everyone. Some want the rain to stop. Some want the rain to continue. A real pain for rain. Whom should it listen to? Stay tuned for updates.
Oh dear... the heavens have opened up. It was drizzling since quite a while but it has gotten heavier now. The umpires waited for a couple of overs and have now ushered the players in. There are a few dark clouds but there is plenty of strong breeze as well.

OUT! CAUGHT! Too loose from Parvez Hossain Emon and that perhaps is the final blow in this self-stitched coffin by Bangladesh. A part-timer comes on and just like against Pakistan, picks up a wicket. It is they who have tilted the balance and with 68 to get, just 4 wickets remaining, have to favour the fielding side. OUT! Brilliant from Jurel. That is why he had his finger up. Hossain's foot was on the line. India are right on top at the moment as Bishnoi gets his 4th. They are into the lower middle order of the Bangladesh side which has hardly been tested. It is a googly, it lands outside off and then turns back in. SH looks to defend with a long stride. It hits the inside edge, then the pads and rolls towards the keeper who takes it with one hand and whips the bails off in a flash. He is appealing and celebrating at the same time. The umpire takes it upstairs and replays show that the batter has not got his foot back in time.

WIDE! Well kept! Tyagi starts with a very full delivery down the leg side. Hossain Emon lets it go to the keeper. The keeper dives and makes a good stop. Wide signaled. Bangladesh are underway with an extra.
The run chase is all set to begin! The Indian players are in a huddle before making their way out to the ground. Parvez Hossain Emon and Tanzid Hasan are out in the middle in the pursuit of 178. Kartik Tyagi will start for India.
Now then, 178 is the target for Bangladesh! They will surely fancy themselves to chase this down, especially after the way they have been batting. India, on the other hand, will need to bowl really well if they are to defend this. They do have a good bowling attack and the wicket is gripping a touch so hitting the right lines and lengths will be very crucial. Can they do so? We will find out.
Shoriful Islam is down for an interview. He says that it felt good bowling with the new ball and he practiced with the new ball in the nets and it worked well today. Adds that the fielding was great and they enjoyed it today.
The Bangladesh players were up for this right from the start! Their new ball bowlers bowled brilliantly, their spinners did well in the end. Even during the middle stages when Varma and Jaiswal looked comfortable, they did not let their body language drop and continued to make scoring hard. They did get rewarded for that as they managed to keep the Indians below 200. Also, their fielding has to be credited too as they were extremely sharp. Diving all around and they made India work for every single run. The catching too was right up there, they hung onto almost everything that came towards them and their effort in the field reflects on the scorecard.
An excellent bowling performance from Bangladesh comes to an end! Their skipper's decision of bowling first, which is always a big risk in big games has surely turned out to be the right one. They are the favourites to lift the cup as they head back into the dressing room for the break. However, India at one stage looked all set for something around the 240-run mark when Yashashvi Jaiswal was batting. His 94-run stand with Tilak Varma took India into a good position after they lost Saxena early. However, after that stand was broken, India kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Jaiswal too fell at the wrong time, 12 short of a ton and from there the procession started. India slipped from 156 for 3 to 177 all out.

OUT! CAUGHT! Excellent keeping from Akbar Ali! It is not the best of deliveries but it still has fetched Das a wicket. Short of a length ball down the leg side, Tyagi could have left the ball alone but gets a faint edge towards the left of the keeper. Ali dives to that side and takes the catch. They appeal and the umpire raises his finger. India have lost their nine wickets and they are not even close to reaching 200. Can the last pair get them to that score?

OUT! RUN OUT and by some distance! There was never a run there and Bangladesh right on top now. This is a yorker on middle. Atharva looks to jam it out but gets an inside edge onto the pads. It rolls beside the pitch. Bisnoi wants a run and charges towards the other end. It was his call and it was him who was running towards the danger end. He though had no chance of making it as. Islam gets to the ball, picks it up and then hits the stumps from close range. Can Bangladesh now keep India under 200?

OUT! RUN OUT! Complete confusion out there and Dhruv Jurel has to go after all the drama. There is a big, big mix-up between the two batsmen and the umpire is taking a lot of time to give the decision. Floated ball on off, Jurel defends it to point and takes off for a single. Atharva is not interested and and shouts a loud no to the umpire. Jurel though does not listen and continues on his run. Shamim Hossain throws it to the keeper and whips the bails off. Now, there is a race going on at the non-striker's end. Both Jurel and Ankolekar are trying to make it inside the crease. The on-field umpire takes it upstairs to decide who reached first. From the replays, it looks like Jurel has made it in while Ankolekar's bat was touching the crease. The third umpire thinks otherwise and sends Jurel on his way. Ravi Bishnoi is the new man in.
